DevOps Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Building and up-managing cloud and hosted infrastructure
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Ensuring that systems follow best industry standards and practices for performance and security
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
• Provides direct and responsive support for urgent analytic needs
• Participates in architecture and software development activities
• Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom workflow
• Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role(at least four years)
• Proficient with git and git workflows
• Good knowledge of programming languages
• Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Problem-solving attitude
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles
• BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or an equivalent area of technical study
• Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes
• Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins
• Significant experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments
• Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Terraform or Pulumi

Nice to Have:

• OpenStack experience will be considered a strong advantage.
